Wow, this is the totally self-indulgent part of the website where I get to present myself as I see myself, not as how others see me! I think some people might wonder why I would choose a topic for a website that seems so esoteric. Well, there are several reasons. First off, the Internet is so huge that it's difficult to create original content about a completely novel subject, if that subject is anything but one's private life. There may be other sites out there about Seattle's retaining walls, but frankly I wanted to do all the work myself, and not resort to re-posting the work of others.
I've been interested in odd and unusual things all my life. Frankly the subject of retaining walls doesn't really seem that odd to me. So here is a bit of biographical background about me. I moved to Seattle in 1987 from Missoula, MT, having graduated with a degree in pharmacy. I worked as a pharmacist for a number of years here in Seattle. Photo courtesy Bob Iverson.

I left the now-defunct Pay 'n Save parmacy in 1992 and went on the road as a sideshow performer. This shot was taken by our road manager Jan Gregor, and shows me in front of a crowd at Lollapalooza 1992.

Here is a photo of me lifting Bebe' Rose with a bit in my mouth. This was also from the 1992 Lollapalooza tour. This photo originally appeared in Newsweek magazine, and I'm not sure who the photographer is.

I left the sideshow in 1994 and went back to pharmacy. I did that for a number of years then stopped. For a time several years ago I built and sold lamps at the Fremont Sunday Market. While the lamp bases were rather ordinary, the lampshades were not, as I would wrap a parallelepipedal (box shaped) steel frame with various synthetic filaments. Kevlar was my favorite, as it cast an unusually "warm" light for being a purely synthetic material. You can see the distinctivly yellow color of Kevlar in the lampshade in the foreground of this photo.

I enjoyed building and selling lamps quite a bit, but unfortunately I couldn't make much money at it! I worked as a professional welder for a while but eventually decided to go back to school. Here is a more or less current photograph of me taken by Paris Giles.

I maintain a Wordpress based website at Orgone Research.
